Overview:

This rug is a very traditional tribal design from Beni Ourain. It features a delicate grid that almost looks like a checkerboard pattern. Thanks to its vintage quality, the line work fades in and out of focus throughout the rug. This rug can be placed either face up or face down. The underside offers a crisper version of the original design, whereas if you put the pile side up, you have a more fuzzy view of the whole rug. One particularly endearing element of this rug that is a surprise date that is woven on the backside -- 1980! In all of our years of rug collecting, we've only stumbled across a dated rug one other time. This is definitely a unique aspect of this piece!
