Another fine, vintage Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe for you from Mahar's Vintage Guitars (and amps), the home of everything tweed!

This is an early 1955 version, the "small box" 5E3. As far as I can tell, this config was made for about 6 months or so.

With the small cabinet, the amp sounds a bit tighter and more focused, at least that's what I found here in our shop. It almost has the character of the beloved Harvard in a way, which is a very good thing.

This Deluxe has likely seen some stages. It has the look for sure! But even with all the cigarette burns, the tweed hasn't gotten all fuzzy and frayed as it often does. The grille is original and looks really good. The chrome panel and screen printing also hangs in there quite nicely.

The transformers and Jensen P12R speaker are original. The original power cable was swapped for a grounded one and the handle is a replacement. The filter caps have been updated. Most of the caps in the circuit are original.

The amp runs strong and quiet, thanks in large part to the necessary service it has received. It sounds simply glorious.
